1938 - Iceland - Misc
EXCEPTIONAL small size Christmas card with a (tiny) miniature calendar for the year 1938 affixed as a decoration on front. With the calendar of course being usable to some extent, petty officials will presumably have demanded it to be taxed and therefore it has received the scarcely seen revenue/tax handstamp "ALMANAKSSJÓDUR" on one of the pages. An awesome item for an exhition collection due to it's size. RARE ITEM.
Rare use of a single 2 kr Christian X stamp from the first issue on an incoming parcel card sent from Denmark in 1923. The 2 kr stamp used to pay import/customs fees for a parcel weighing 3800 grams, the stamp annuled with the circular date stamp of the Reykjavik customs post office according to the regulations that were in effect from the beginning of 1922 until March of 1924.
Nice little ship letter franked with 4 and 6 aur Christian IX stamps. The letter first cancelled on arrival in Copenhagen with a cancellation unusual on Icelandic stamps "KJOBENHAVN B. B. B.".
