VOPNAFJÖRDUR Lapidar cancel tying 4 and 6 aur Christian IX stamps to an INTERESTING inland cover sent to Reykjavík in 1903. The cover presumably handed in at a location where a postal cancellation was not available or directly to the postman en-route to Vopnafjörður, the stamps thus each cancelled with an ink cross. The cover then cancelled upon receipt at the Vopnafjörður office with its Lapidar-type cds on back on 21/4 (1903) with the stamps eventually being cancelled with the same cds on 2/5 upon the cover's departure from Vopnafjördur. The cover finally cancelled upon arrival in Reykjavik on 8/5. A part of one corner missing.
