The cover is sent to the district doctor Páll Jakob Blöndal in (Stafholtsey in Borgarfjörður, d. 1903) and based on the recipient's penciled note on the front, the sender was the district doctor in Ísafjörður, Þorvaldur Jónsson. The letter is postmarked SVEINSTAÐIR 10.11 and HJARÐARHOLT 21.11 on the front.
