Die proofs of essays of the 80 & 170 kr values from the series of "Famous Icelanders" issued in 1979, with just some very subtle differences from the issued stamps. Engraved and printed in reddish colour on thick paper and mounted on card which HAS BEEN SIGNED BY THE ENGRAVER. This is the only such set that we have ever seen or heard of ever coming to market.
