1963 - Iceland - Cover

AEROPLANE CRASH OF HRÍMFAXI in Oslo on April 14, 1963. A Cover sent from the UK that was on its way from Copenhagen with HRÍMFAXI, a Vickers Viscount aircraft of Flugfélag Íslands, en route to Bergen for the planned flight to Iceland. The plane crashed about 4 kilometers from Fornebu Airport in Oslo, a total of 12 people died in the accident, the plane's 5-person crew as well as all 7 passengers. The cover, which was saved from the wreckage, was finally delivered to the recipient in Iceland with an attached typewritten message from the Post Office in Reykjavík.
