Bréfið er sent á héraðslækninn Páll Jakob Blöndal í (Stafholtsey í Borgarfirði, d. 1903) og miðað við blýantsskrifaða athugasemd viðtakanda á framhlið hefur sendandinn verið Þorvaldur Jónsson héraðslæknir á Ísafirði. Bréfið leiðarstimplað SVEINSTAÐIR 10.11 og HJARÐARHOLT 21.11 á framhlið.
